Judgment Day

I dreamed I stood within a line

Stretched forth to Judgment Day
All ears could hear the alphabet

In the names that start with A
Through Baker, Bates and Bartholomew

We eased toward the light
In M..... I wished a clearer view
With N..... I found the better sight

We moved ahead a wand'ring herd

To greet our fateful Day
A rank defiled no marching band

We sheep who went astray
O... Omnipotent and Eternal Father

Give strength to weakened knees
I pray you find within the Book

My work and deeds that please...

A stream of S... in exhilaration

Send shaking... shivers through
Down T and counting to my name

As blinding light came too
Within the W's, a Wall some Whites

And then a fear that rushed and came
For on the List, my God, the Call

Over............ it passed my name

This is a dream! It cannot be

I comforted to myself
I know I've listened to God's Words

And lived them, too, their worth
The Name that's written in the Book

God calls to someone else
But We are One - a second look

I go as other self

A moral if you need - be none

For what is in a name
Vain title held in high esteem

Is given to the same
