The Wind doesn't yield

A day in the wind
On dune, plain, or sea
The wayfarers bend
Sometimes they break free
A leaf on the walk
Rolling down a field
Though the fence may balk
The wind doesn't yield
Paper on the stroll
Crumpled or flat sheet
By flip or by roll
More swift than mere feet
A hat at the beach
Tumbling and spilled
One step beyond reach
The wind doesn't yield
There goes a storm door
Slapped by a hard gust
An empty hand swore
Too sluggish to trust
No chance to defend
Behind a frail shield
You can't catch the wind
The wind doesn't yield
It's part of a guild
With a force to wield
And it's fate is sealed
The wind doesn't yield
