and you always
unhappy about their qualities
but they will be the strength of tomorrow
like you were the strength of yesterday

Their ways are not yours
and why should they be?.
You lived your life, strongly
boldly, daring, raked now and then
by a doubt, an incertitude,
a fist shaken at fate

And so they will live theirs,
So many things change
and so many things stay the same

Leave them to make sense
of a changing world,
where kindness is still rare coin,
lessons are always tough
and many do accept defeat

Spirit will always walk with us,
so trust that the future will
hold as many bold deeds and
gigantic ideals as your past did

So many things change
and they still remain  the same:
If you look at life with an eye
for the underlying essence
and don't get caught in appearances

But, young or old friend, that is a hard
lesson to learn and none I can describe
You'll see how things change
and remain the same
