The kiss of Jezebel
Her outer beauty undeniable,
her feminine charms divine.
A promise of love immortal,
from now until the end of time.
I alone was blinded; everyone else could see.
They tried to "show me the light"
but I believed in her sincerity.
We were inseparable from the start.
For 5 years she owned my heart.
As each day passed; I became her and she was me;
We had become one in personality.
Our love grew as hours passed;
now I had found inner happiness at last.
A different obstacle presented itself each day,
but we wouldn't allow anything to stand in our way.
Together we were going to conquer the world.
No river too broad, no mountain too high;
with her by my side my spirit would fly.
We loved each other and that was all that mattered.
With purpose at last my loneliness was shattered.
She had taken my heart and kept the key.
To her alone I had given it willingly.
As time passed her true self began to show.
I was living with a stranger; her I did not know.
She was everything I despised.
The words she spoke were full of lies.
The knife in my back opened my eyes.
She was a curse and not a prize.
No longer did I receive love and respect.
Her only gifts were hatred and neglect.
Her intoxicating kisses had all been lies.
She was rotten to the core on the inside.
The fire I felt had made me blind;
but now I saw her with a clear mind...
Behind her mask she was just another Jezebel.
