Pigeon Holes

One of my greatest faults is premature opinion.
I instantly judge others based on stereotypes.
With no other methods used for discernment;
It's hardly a coincidence that I think I'm right.
Systematically without thinking about it...
I place people I meet in pigeon holes.
Sometimes I may have unfairly judged them
but quick understanding was my only goal.
Still many times I've come to regret it later;
after getting to know those who I misjudged.
Once again I've jumped to unfair conclusions;
luckily for me most people don't hold a grudge.
Why can't I be less judgmental?
To 'live and let live'... the answer is simple.
It's human nature to sum up people briefly;
to dissect the skin but not dig too deeply.
If only I would take more time to do each appraisal well.
Instead of placing them all in "pigeon holes" like criminals in a cell!
