The agony of growing older
The first sign is grey hairs,
shortly followed by wrinkles.
In the beginning they're only noticable
when your forehead crinkles.
Soon comes the aches of muscle and joint pain.
The arthritis you have is intensified every time it rains.
To add insult to injury, your memory starts to go.
The location of things you've put away you no longer know!
Over the years you helpless watch
as your body crumbles and decays.
Remembering when you were young,
before youth slipped away.
In the end you shiver and shake
while your blood grows continually colder.
No one escapes the disease of life,
the agony of growing older.
