The Binding Dance

Before the Internet
brought us together
Before the age of the jet
Before the machine
Before the city
Before the Sphinx
Before the dog, pig and cat

Fireflies lit ley lines
on a warm summer’s night
and we four, a circle drew
on the Salisbury plain
as the power of the Shide
coursed through our veins
We made the holy sacrifice
invoked the sacred chant
and danced the binding dance

How long
shall we wander the dreamtime?
How long
shall we together walk hand in hand?
"Ten-thousand years", whispers Diana
"will you travel heart to heart
thought to thought
lip to lip"
